Swagger Music Festival
October 21, 2016 @ 8:00 am - October 23, 2016 @ 5:00 pm
Swagger is laughter, hand-clapping, sunlight seeping through the trees; endless colour, fairy lights, floating embers; the shadow of the tents, strangers meeting, and endless booty shaking.
It’s all about music and soul, sweet sounds that fill your ears andheart, dancing on dirt and napping in the grass.
Swagger is the warmth of an arm around my shoulder, the hands that playguitar like no other, the cool beer between my fingers.
It’s the feathers in my hair, the sparkles on my face and thesmiling moon in the sky.
Swagger is an annual reunion amongst the picturesque pines of friends and friends to be. It’s here where we get back to the roots of true community, the heart of unforgettable music and the spirit of the majestic earth. It’s a two-day non-stop celebration of talented artists, a celebration of joy and connection and a celebration of community with ongoing music, market stalls, amazing food and of course, free hugs going round all day long! So come join us in October this year; drive down roads you’ve never been to discover friends you’ve always known; lose yourself amongst the trees to find yourself again on the dancefloor; and oh yeah, don’t be afraid to unleash a little bit of Swagger!
WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT…
It’s important for us at Swagger to maintain a consistent ethos, one that stops us from losing sight of why we are doing this in the first place. We’ve summed them up into these five beliefs…
We want to give talented musicians the opportunity to grow as artists through performing at Swagger. Every single person that gets up on that stage deserves to be there and as the lineup grows ever more incredible each year, so too do we hope that these artists grow through this experience.
Swagger is a place to connect to the souls of one another, a place to connect to the dancing child in all of us and a place to connect to the earth. It’s a place where we disconnect from the media, politics, advertisting, materialism, jobs and the pressures of a life that says you can’t be anyone that you want to be. At Swagger you can be that person, and actually, we would prefer it if you were!
There’s no spirit like that of a country-town community. At Swagger we like to see people helping out each other with pitching their tent, or offering a space on their picnic rug, or even just tilting your hat to whoever you pass by. Whilst we bring in outstanding musicians from all around Australia and the world, we like to give thanks to what the local area has to offer and endeavour to support as many local lads and ladies as possible with their market and food stalls.
Keep it small, keep it simple and don’t sell out. Keep it about the people, the music and the love; not the money.
For the music, each other and the land. It’s an all-love festival man, and we want to ke
