Nestled at the foot of Mt Hotham the beautiful little town of Harrietville has a fantastic and diverse Hotel / Motel – The Snowline Hotel. This highly successful Hotel is seeking a creative, passionate and energetic Head Chef. This is a full time permanent position with an initial casual trial period.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced chef to take the next step in their career or perhaps you are a Head Chef but want creative control over the menu. Either way – this is a perfect opportunity to build your reputation while providing you scope to put your creative stamp on the menus.

Food is the focus at the Snowline Hotel and we have created a niche as a popular food destination for people visiting the high country all year round.

Key to success in this role is:

  • Creativity, passion and experience. We need someone to continue to build the Snowline’s reputation for great country pub food using the best local produce.
  • Ability and drive to run the kitchen as if it were your own.Working with a small management team you will be responsible for all areas of the kitchen. Rostering, Menu creation, stock management, recruitment, training & development of a young team of cooks and kitchen hands.
  • Sound communication skills, a self-starter and importantly a team player. You will need to be capable of working with a young team, creating great food and help manage a small Hotel kitchen that serves up to 200 covers per night during peak season.

Hotel Food & Beverage Manager 

 

Come and experience Victoria’s High Country and work in our Hotel & Motel. Only 3.5 hours from Melbourne in the heart of the Alpine National Park our town Harrietville is a popular destination year round destination for skiers, campers, hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers, dirt bikers and 4wders.

 

Who we’re looking for…

  • A creative, passionate, person experienced in hospitality & administration that can help us continue to build our reputation as an iconic High Country destination..
  • This role will cover days and evenings in our Hotel restaurant plus reception administration & marketing work for our busy 16 room Motel.
  • Good communicator, self motivated and capable of leading a young team, experienced in working in restaurants and bars that serves an excess of 200 covers per night in busy season.
  • Currently holds a Victorian RSA (we can assist with this if need be)
  • Experience or passionate interest in helping us grow events, functions & wedding sales
  • Entrepreneurial experience or ambition to help develop our venue as a destination and package tourism experiences in our region.
  • High level of computer literacy is desirable for assisting with Hotel Admin, stock management, Marketing, PR, Email Marketing & Social Media Marketing.

Motel Cleaners Wanted…

  • An Experienced cleaner to help service a busy 16 room Motel and Hotel with a great young team in an idyllic location.
  • Suitable for contactors or casuals.
  • 20-30 hours work per week available plus opportunities for bar or kitchen work.
  • Must be fastidious, organized, able to work independently and above all reliable as we have heavy seasonal occupancy at peak times and often require quick turnarounds.
  • Generous staff conditions and above award wages.

 

A bit about us…

  • Our 16 room Hotel Motel room is busy year round and we can provide ongoing work for the right candidates.
  • The Motel is at full occupancy over long weekends, Easter and the snow season with busiest changeover days being Friday- Monday.
  • The Hotel is busy every weekend, has regular live music and we need may need help cleaning the pub Friday-Monday.
